Frank Stahl - Principal - Grade 7 & 8
Goal: To teach by example providing Christian character building and service, academic and practical skills, and by making opportunities to use them now.
Since 2008, Frank Stahl has served as Principal and seventh and eighth grade teacher. Mr. Stahl has twenty-five years of teaching experience. Though most of these years have been centralized on grades 4-9, he has taught at least one subject to all grades from K thru 12. The majority of these years he has also served as a teaching Principal. He has served on numerous education Boards and Committees from local and statewide to multi-state levels. He was awarded the ”Commissioned Minister of Teaching Credential“ (1991), the ”Zapara Adventist Excellence in Teaching Award“ (1994) and nominated four times for ”Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.“
He has an A.S. and a B.A. degree. He holds elementary certification and also is certified to teach the following secondary subjects: English, History, Industrial Arts, and Bible and has maintained a Designated Certificate to teach Math and Computer. He has held State Certification in Washington and Maine and holds the Adventist Education Standard Denomination Certification. He is a graduate of Penn Tech College and Walla Walla University and has attended at least nine different colleges or universities for post-graduates studies.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Stahl, enjoys family, genealogy, history, outdoor adventures such as backpacking and canoeing, nature study, skiing and snowshoeing, team sports such as basketball and hockey, carpentry, photography, and computers. His favorite sports teams include the Pittsburgh Steelers-Penguins-Pirates, and Los Angeles Lakers. He is a 20-year Pathfinder and a Master Guide. He plays and enjoys guitar and other musical instruments.
Besides education, his past working experience has included assisting in designing a seismic test for a large nuclear valve, architectural plans for homes, developments, a skywalk, drafting electrical circuit boards, the operation of various factory wood machines, pastoring, deaning, writing teacher instructional materials for national use, and doing BMA maintenance and cafeteria jobs.
Mr. Stahl is happily married and has three children. Wife, Kay, is a ’76 graduate of BMA with financial counseling, teaching (Health, P.E., Home Ec., piano), registrar, and homemaking experience. They have lived in Washington, Arizona, Ohio, and Maine, prior to returning to PA. The family has a great affection for county living. Prior to returning to PA they enjoyed 17 years in the Maine woods enjoying moose, beaver, and loons in ‘thay-ahh’ back, front ’n side ‘yawhds.’ A-yuh! Coming from the Gettysburg area they are leaving a McDonald’s farm called the ’Ole Kay Corral where they had some 15-20 animals and birds.
